The TMAX in a nutshell

The Yamaha TMAX, sometimes written T-Max, is a 560cc maxi-scooter. On paper it's a scooter: automatic transmission, flat floor, storage under the seat. On the road it's something else. Aluminium frame, proper suspension, motorcycle-grade brakes. It accelerates hard, holds its line through the west-coast curves and sits happily at 110 on the expressway between Phuket Town and the airport.

It's also the machine for riding two-up. The passenger seat is wide, the riding position is relaxed, and the hills between Patong and Kata go by without the engine straining. A lap of the island in a day, two people and a bag, is exactly the trip it was built for.

The TMAX is a proper maxi-scooter: over 200 kg, strong acceleration, brakes to match. TMAX or another model?

Be honest about your plans before choosing. If you mostly want to reach the beach and cover a few kilometres a day, an NMAX or ADV 160 does the job for a third of the price. If you want two-up comfort without the thrills, the XMAX 300 gives you the two seats and the storage for a fraction of the cost; it's the model we recommend most often to couples. The ADV 350 adds suspension that forgives rough tarmac.

TMAX rental prices in Phuket, season by season

In Phuket, the price of a TMAX depends mostly on the calendar. Here are our real ranges, per day:

Why a range and not a fixed price? Because the rate depends on how long you rent and how many TMAXs are still free when you write. A week costs less per day than two days, and a month less again. Send your dates and you get the exact figure, not an estimate.

What's included in the price

Hotel delivery is included anywhere on the island: Patong of course, but also Kata, Karon, Kamala, Bang Tao, Rawai, Chalong, Phuket Town and the airport area. Landing tomorrow morning? Sort everything on WhatsApp today and the TMAX is waiting at reception.

At handover we film the scooter with you, from every angle, scratches included. We film it again at return. Anything that isn't on the delivery footage can't be charged to you, and you can keep a copy on your phone. On a machine at this price, that video protects everyone.

No cash deposit. What about the passport?

Elsewhere, a TMAX often rents against 20,000 to 50,000 ฿ of cash deposit. We don't take a cash deposit. Instead, your passport is the guarantee during the rental. We tell you here in full transparency: it's standard practice in Thailand, and with us it's handled simply and clearly. You sign a contract, the handover is filmed at delivery and at return, and your passport is handed back the moment you return the scooter. Travelling as a group? One passport covers the whole rental, even with several vehicles.

High season: book your TMAX early

From January to March, the TMAXs go first. The fleet only has a few, demand comes from everywhere, and people who write in December for February sometimes find everything taken. The fix is simple: send your dates as soon as they're set and lock the scooter with a deposit. The rest is paid at delivery, as usual. In low season, relax, a message the day before is almost always enough.

The licence part, kept simple

The TMAX rides with a motorcycle licence valid for its engine size, plus an International Driving Permit if your licence isn't Thai. No need to spend the evening on it: send a photo of your licence on WhatsApp and we'll confirm within minutes what's possible for you.
