How much does it cost to rent a scooter in Phuket?

In short: a common scooter rents from 200-300 ฿ per day in low season, rising to 500-600 ฿ for the same model in high season. More powerful maxi-scooters cost more. The price depends on three things: the model, the season and the length of the rental.

Low season or high season: what changes?

The season has a real impact on price. There are two periods to know:

• Low season (May to October): fewer tourists, more scooters available, the softest prices. It's the best time for a good rate. There are short rain showers, but you ride easily between them.
• High season (December to March): peak crowds, demand climbs and so do prices. Book ahead to be sure of getting your model at a good rate.

Between the two, the same scooter can cost two to three times more. If your dates are flexible, aiming for low season lightens the budget noticeably.

Weekly and monthly: that's where you win

Rates are degressive: the longer you rent, the less you pay per day. By the week or month, you get the lowest rate for each model. A scooter rented by the month works out far cheaper per day than a two- or three-day rental.
