Riding a scooter in Phuket: 8 safety tips

The scooter is the best way to explore Phuket — free and cheap. But Thai roads have their codes. Here are 8 concrete tips to ride worry-free.

1. Always wear a helmet

2. Ride on the left

In Thailand, traffic is on the left. Stay very focused the first hours, especially at roundabouts and car-park exits.

3. Start on a small scooter
