ScootZone rents scooters and motorbikes in Patong, on the island of Phuket. But we didn't start ScootZone just to be one more rental shop in Patong. We started it because we were tired of watching travellers get ripped off.

Why ScootZone exists

Renting a scooter in Phuket should be the best memory of the trip. Too often it's the worst. You may know the script: they rent you a bike without noting anything, and at drop-off they point to a scratch you never made, with a bill attached. Or they demand a cash deposit of tens of thousands of baht and hold it hostage to charge you for anything. Or they hand you a poorly maintained machine with no insurance, and the problem becomes yours.

We've seen this happen to too many people. A holiday ruined over a fake scratch, an argument when handing the bike back, a traveller leaving with a bad taste in their mouth. We decided to do the exact opposite, and to make that our trademark.

How we actually do things

Our rule is simple: you should never have to take our word for it. We prove it.

We film the bike with you, at pickup and at return. Close-up on every angle, existing scratches included. That video is the reference: anything not on it can't be charged to you, and you keep a copy on your phone. The fake scratch at return is, with us, mechanically impossible.

No cash deposit. We don't lock up your cash or your card. The guarantee during the rental is your passport, with a signed contract, and you get it back at drop-off after the video check. We tell you this clearly upfront, not at the moment of delivery.

Insurance and two helmets included, prices agreed in advance. The rate depends on the season, but we confirm it in writing on WhatsApp before you book, with no hidden fees appearing at the end. You pay when the bike is handed over.

We deliver to your hotel, anywhere on the island, and we reply fast, in English, French or Russian. You pick your model with us, from the small easy-going NMAX up to the big maxi-scooters for experienced riders. Maxi-scooters are actually our specialty: we know the Yamaha TMAX and the Honda X-ADV 750 inside out, and few shops in Patong carry them.

Our goal: to become the honest reference in Phuket

We don't want to be the cheapest shop on the island. We want to be the one you send a friend to without hesitating. The one people think of, back home from holiday, as "those guys, at least, played it straight." Every rental, we try to earn that review. It's slow, it's built one customer at a time, but that's how we want to become the reference for rental in Phuket: not through ads, through reputation.

Who is behind ScootZone

ScootZone is the online brand of Island Rent Bike, a local rental shop based in Patong. The bikes, the maintenance and the on-the-ground service are handled by the Island Rent Bike team, on site, every day. Nothing is farmed out to a middleman we wouldn't know.
